Welcome to the TUI Global Hotel Sustainability Awards page.
To protect our planet we urgently need to change the way we use resources, so this year we’re dedicating the awards to the topic of emission reductions through the launch of the 2024 Hotel Carbon Reduction Award.
This award will recognize and celebrate hotel partners who have reduced their carbon emissions to an absolute minimum, and ideally all the way to zero. By sharing best practices on how they’ve led the way in achieving low or no carbon emissions, they can inspire other hotels to reduce their environmental footprint and help drive-up environmental standards in our industry. Plus, alongside the deserved recognition from TUI and their industry peers, the hotel winners will also receive increased exposure through TUI’s many different marketing and communication channels.
Hotel Carbon Reduction Award
This is your chance to showcase the measures you took during the construction, refurbishment or operation of your hotel that have resulted in carbon emissions being reduced to an absolute minimum, and ideally all the way to zero. Examples might include sourcing or generating renewable energy, increasing energy efficiency, or moving away from fossil fuels by electrifying heating systems, kitchens, or transportation.
What the judges are looking for
- Make it tangible: state the concrete measures you have taken and the CO2 reductions you have achieved, or are hoping to achieve, as a result of these measures
- Highlight innovations: share any innovations or new technical approaches that other hotels might be also be apply to use
- Evidence of your achievements: show that your carbon emissions have been reduced to zero (or as close as is possible), and preferably have this data verified by a third-party
