Security Assessment completed – what happens next?

You have prepared, had your assessment, and received your report. The next section takes you through what you need to do next.

Assessment Findings: Your “To Do” Actions

You will find your actions within your account on E-Cristal. These are based on Intertek Cristal’s findings which will be clearly noted in your overall report. These actions are what you need to do to improve your security measures.

In some cases, you will be asked to upload evidence to the E-Cristal platform against your actions (This is similar to the process you follow for any Health & Safety non-conformities).

In other cases, you will be asked only to confirm that you have done the necessary actions to improve your security.

Intertek Cristal will then see the necessary improvements have been made. Once the evidence is approved within the E-Cristal system you will see this reflected as an increase in your assessment score.

By completing all your actions, it will mean you are meeting the TUI Hotel Security standard requirements.

Evidence: What does this mean and why it is important

Sometimes to complete your actions, you will be required to provide evidence of what you have implemented, documented, or put in place.

An example could be:

Finding – The server room has no lock.

Evidence – A photo of the lock installed.

OR

Finding – There is no Security Management System document.

Evidence – A photo of the Security Management System document.

Intertek Cristal then evaluates the evidence, and if they feel the action meets the criteria, they will allow the action to be closed, and you will see this as complete in your E-Cristal account and your score will increase.

This is great as it means you are a step closer to meeting the TUI Hotel Security standard!

Security Cycle: All finished? Not quite.

You have worked through your actions, increased your security measures and seen your Security Management System evolve through the feedback and actions you have taken.

So, you are finished right?

No! Security is never a subject that can be completely finished, as circumstances change every day. To keep things up to date and relevant to your hotel, we encourage that you review documents, plans, procedures, and training on a regular basis. Changing as appropriate, ensuring that every new member of staff understands the importance of security to your hotel, your guests and them.
