British TUI guests are currently flying to over twenty destinations and with the start of the school holidays in the UK, Britons are showing a strong appetite for travel. The number of departing guests in the UK almost doubled compared to the weekend a week ago. The Mediterranean holiday destinations are particularly popular, especially the Balearic Islands with Mallorca and Ibiza and the Spanish mainland. The Greek islands, especially Rhodes, are also high on the popularity scale of the British, ranking among the three most popular destinations of all. In addition to Spain and Greece, British TUI guests also like to fly to Cyprus, Portugal, Malta and Morocco this summer. In a few days’ time TUI UK will also be offering holidays to Croatia again. TUI’s British subsidiary is now flying to long-haul destinations again with its airline TUI Airways. The destination: Montego Bay on Jamaica.

Since 19 April 2021, the summer season has started at TUI Belgium and more than 44 holiday destinations are available to Belgian TUI guests. Demand for holidays in other European countries remains high. Spain is particularly popular this summer, especially the Balearic island of Majorca and the Canary island of Tenerife. The Greek islands of Crete, Rhodes and Kos are also very popular with Belgians. For the first time there is a country among the top five holiday destinations of TUI Belgium: Bulgaria. Demand for the Bulgarian Black Sea coast is actually very high and ranks the third most popular holiday destination for Belgians. Apart from Mediterranean destinations, long-haul destinations are also part of the flight programme. For example, TUI Belgium flies twice a week to the Dominican Republic. In Belgium, there is no longer a travel warning for European destinations. In order to give guests a good orientation, TUI Belgium has made its own evaluation of destinations. Each region is categorised on the basis of detailed information on the incidence of infection. For each island or sub-region, it is being examined and assessed in detail to which extent the infection rate on that island or sub-region has a concrete impact especially on the areas where the TUI hotels are located.
